The fundamental difference between a hidden sleeve and an external sleeve is that the hidden sleeve is used to test whether the dog will actually bite someone in civilian clothing, while the external sleeve is visible and does not serve this purpose.
The protective layer is worn under clothing, helping to create a realistic situation in the human–dog interaction during training. The product fits both the left and right arm.
